Still alive, still running
It's been quite some time since I've written here. Not because I fell off the running/training wagon or anything, I just haven't had a lot of extra time. Or really the desire to sit down and write.Anyway, I managed to finish the C25K program a few weeks ago and now I'm working on running for an hour. I was going to do a One Hour Runner training program that is available at coolrunning.com but I decided instead to do my own thing. I'm adding an additional 5 minutes to my runs each week. Currently I'm up to running for 40 minutes and it's going well.
Yesterday I had the best run I've ever had. I was totally in the zone, my stride was great, I was running fast and breathing well. I don't know what my mileage was because I was inside at the track and 19 and a half times aound is a mile and I just didn't feel like keeping track. It was really nice and relaxing and by the end I wasn't even feeling out of breath. Honestly it was a dream run for me.
I'm still running three times per week and still doing the bike as well. I know that soon I'm going to have to start swimming, but I'm really putting it off. I am just not looking forward to it at all. I haven't swam in years, in fact I don't even own a bathing suit. I'll probably end up taking some swimming lessons at the Y, to start. I suppose I'll have to make a point to look into that.
I think I should get a book on triathlon training, that will probably help me get in the proper frame of mine and come up with a good training plan.
