Are You Nervous?

Awhile ago I was feeling in a slump when it came to new music. Nothing much was catching my eye, or ear as the case may be. I'd been listening to the same stuff over and over, and while it's good, it can get a bit old if nothing new comes along to spice things up.

I recently discovered Rock Kills Kid who most definitely manage to add a little something to my playlist. They're like a mix of U2, (a more energetic) The Cure, The Killers and a little bit of Death Cab thrown in. They're angst-y and synth-y and very catchy. We put them on a mixed CD that we listen to in the car and before I knew it I was singing along to all their songs. Apparently they've toured She Wants Revenge which make sense, though I do think that Rock Kills Kid is much better. Their songs are oddly familiar and I think that's part of why I like them so. I'm hoping that they do some touring this year and they make their way up to Seattle.

Other bands (some old, some new) I've been listening to a lot lately:

The Fratellis
Alexisonfire (who we will be seeing with Anti Flag next week)
OK Go
The Raconteurs
Alkaline Trio
Hot Hot Heat
Maximo Park
