I Wasn't Born To Follow

So I have one of these sitting on my desk that I bought the other day. A co-worker came into my office and was looking at it and said:

"I don't know that it's very rock n roll of Social Distortion to have a skeleton action figure."

No? Well I can't think of any band more rock n roll than KISS and they have a ton of merch including action figures, dolls, toilet paper and condoms (for christsake). In the end it's all about making money doing what they love. If Social Distortion can make a skeleton action figure and people buy it, then good for them. They're making money doing what they love and really all that matters is the music anyway. The fact that they've been around for 20+ years and are still true to their sound is quite an accomplishment. I don't think they have to "prove" to anyone how rock n roll they are by what they do or do not sell, or in any other regard. The music speaks for itself.
