What You See Is What You Get

Items purchased yesterday at the West Seattle Thriftway:

1 - 12.6oz Voss still water
1 - 4 pack of Talking Rain Sparking Water Natural flavor
2 - small San Pellegrino sparkling Waters
1 - bottle of Ty Nant water in the award winning PET bottle that was voted 8th coolest item in the world right now [2003] (oh yes, that's how I roll)

Also in cart: milk, Oatmeal Raisin Spelt Cookies and a cucumber.

Apparently we like our water. I don't know where our fascination with water came from lately but we've been drinking a lot of it, and all different kinds. Mostly I buy them for the bottle because if I can reuse it, I will. I used to spend far too much money buying the nice Nalgene type water bottles, but I could only use them for so long before they started to get icky. It actually all started on our little get away to Portland where we stayed at the Westin and got this free bottle of AcquaPanna that had the niftiest sport top that I'd never seen before. Well, I used the hell out of that bottle and eventually realized it was time for a new one. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find that same bottle anywhere, so I've been looking for substitutes. As for the Sparkling water, Shawn's been on a kick lately. I personally can't get into it. It's water that makes me burp as if I were drinking soda, and that's just wrong.

I would have to say that so far my favorite water and bottle that I've come across is Biota, only because the bottle is made out of 100% corn and is biodegradable. I like the fact that it comes from a renewable source and that it just disintegrates (under the proper conditions of course). I guess I'm a bit of a hippie like that. Though so far I've only found it at Whole Foods, which is a bit out of the way. They need to get on it and open the one in West Seattle already.

We Can't Get Too Graphic Here

This first story is rather disturbing.

However, this priceless quote made me crack up laughing and just about spit my coffee all over my desk:

We can't get too graphic here, but word is that the action includes some bodily functions and an act known as a "Dirty Sanchez."

You Got Some Attitude

I had to take our cat to the vet the other day because I suspected she had a bladder infection. Turns out she's perfectly fine and probably just being neurotic as per usual. Anyway, while I was in the exam room with her and the vet, one of the front desk people came apologetically knocking on the door.

Her: "Sorry to interrupt, but I have animal control on the phone and they have an injured opossum and were wondering if they could bring it here."

Sadie's Vet: "Sure."

Her: "Really? You know how to deal with an opossum? Because the other vets here don't."

Sadie's Vet: "No, but I'll find out."

I have to say that is just the most awesome attitude for a vet to have. I mean, he was obviously rather busy, and didn't know how to deal with an injured opossum, but decided to take it in anyway. It just shows that he honestly cares about animals and his job. So, for that reason I will be sure to take Sadie to him every single time she needs to go to the vet. He's quite the step above the place we used to take her, granted it's a bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it.
